The World Luxury Chamber of Commerce presents the World Luxury Manifesto, developed by WLCC as part of the World Luxury Day 2026 celebrations, with selected contributions from the global luxury community. The document sets out shared principles for luxury while recognising how personally it is understood and experienced.

Around 200 contributions, shared in response to the question “What does luxury mean to you?”, informed the conversation behind the initiative. Reflections on craftsmanship, time, privacy, wellbeing, heritage and human connection revealed how closely luxury is connected to individual experiences, memories and values.

Developed by WLCC, the Manifesto articulates a shared vision for luxury and the responsibilities that come with its influence. Selected contributions from the global luxury community enrich the document, showing how these values are understood across different cultures, professions and personal experiences.

A Shared Direction for the Luxury Industry

World Luxury Manifesto defines the fundamental principles that should guide luxury and the responsibilities that come with its cultural, creative and economic influence. It provides a shared professional reference point, connecting the pursuit of exceptional quality with respect for people, cultural heritage and the resources on which the industry depends.

It calls on brands and professionals to consider the lasting impact of their decisions: how they preserve knowledge, nurture talent, build trust and embrace progress without losing their identity. Responsibility is presented as an integral part of how luxury is created, communicated and experienced.

Developed by WLCC, the Manifesto sets a direction for this shared commitment while respecting the diversity of cultures, disciplines and personal perspectives across the industry. It invites the luxury community to carry these principles into everyday work, partnerships and the legacy it leaves for future generations.

“For those of us who work in luxury, the pursuit of excellence is part of everyday life. We continually refine what we create and how we serve, always seeking to do better than we did yesterday. But luxury also carries a deeply personal meaning, rooted in our experiences, memories and values. The World Luxury Manifesto brings these dimensions together, exploring the principles we share as an industry and the individual perspectives that give them meaning. Our professional understanding of luxury is, ultimately, inseparable from the way we experience it as people,” says Alexander Chetchikov, President of the World Luxury Chamber of Commerce.
