The World Luxury Chamber of Commerce introduces Luxtober Season, giving a name to the Month of Luxury that begins on World Luxury Day, 8 October, and continues through the end of October.
Building on the Month of Luxury announced as part of this year’s World Luxury Day celebrations, Luxtober brings the idea into focus: an annual season dedicated to luxury shopping, events and experiences, with opportunities for brands, professionals and clients to connect across sectors and countries.
Initiated by WLCC, the season extends the spirit of World Luxury Day, which this year reached more than half a million people worldwide. It carries the celebration of people, craftsmanship, excellence, innovation and sustainability through the remaining weeks of October, giving the luxury community a shared occasion to discover, exchange and celebrate.
From a Shared Day to a Season of Discovery
World Luxury Day was established by the World Luxury Chamber of Commerce to recognise the people and expertise behind luxury. Across different sectors and countries, it offers a shared occasion to celebrate achievements and consider the industry’s future.
Luxtober extends that invitation throughout the remaining weeks of October. Brands, boutiques, hotels, restaurants and other luxury businesses can use the season to share their expertise, welcome clients and give people opportunities to discover their work.
For clients and guests, this could mean a closer look at a craft, an introduction to an unfamiliar brand or an experience that reveals the thought and care behind a service. For businesses, it creates a timely occasion to reconnect with their communities and develop ideas with partners from other disciplines.
“World Luxury Day gives our industry a shared moment of recognition. With Luxtober Season, we want to carry that spirit through the rest of October and create an annual occasion that businesses can interpret in their own way. A boutique, a hotel, a designer or a restaurant will each have something different to offer. We invite them to bring their own ideas to the season and create opportunities for people to discover the expertise, creativity and care behind their work,” says Alexander Chetchikov, President of the World Luxury Chamber of Commerce.*
How to Make Luxtober Your Own
Luxtober offers businesses a flexible occasion to celebrate in ways that reflect their identity and their relationships with clients. A personal invitation, an opportunity to meet a craftsperson or a collaboration between neighbouring businesses can each give the season a distinctive local expression.
Brands and professionals can take part in several ways:
- Share the stories behind their work. Introduce the people, skills and decisions behind a product or service through editorial features, newsletters or social media.
- Reconnect with clients and partners. Send a personal message, offer tailored recommendations or invite clients to discover a part of the business they may not know.
- Create opportunities for discovery. Arrange boutique appointments, atelier visits, tastings, design conversations or demonstrations that bring clients closer to a particular craft.
- Develop seasonal experiences and offers. Create a special menu, a curated stay, a personal shopping experience or a service available during Luxtober.
- Build collaborations across sectors. A hotel and a perfumer, a boutique and an artist, or a restaurant and a design studio could bring their expertise together around a shared idea.
- Recognise teams and emerging talent. Celebrate the people behind the business and share how their knowledge is being passed to the next generation.
For those discovering luxury, the season is an invitation to explore: visit a boutique, learn about a maker, experience a new destination or take time to appreciate the skill behind something they value.
An Invitation to the Luxury Community
WLCC invites brands, boutiques, hotels, restaurants, designers and luxury professionals worldwide to make Luxtober Season their own. Running from 8 to 31 October each year, the season provides a shared occasion for businesses to connect their stories, experiences and initiatives with a wider celebration of luxury.
Media and industry professionals are also invited to contribute through features, interviews and conversations that explore luxury across different disciplines, from craftsmanship and design to hospitality, innovation and responsible business practices.
