Georgios Kasmirlis, CEO of Castello Hotels Group, has built a hospitality portfolio guided by authentic service, thoughtful design, and a deep connection to Crete. As Castello Infinity Suites has been recognized by Luxury Lifestyle Awards, the property reflects a contemporary approach to luxury that prioritizes personalized experiences and lasting guest relationships. In conversation with the World Luxury Chamber of Commerce, Kasmirlis discusses the principles that shape the group’s hospitality philosophy, the importance of maintaining authenticity in an evolving market, and his perspective on the future of luxury travel.
WLCC: As CEO of Castello Hotels Group, what principles have guided your approach to building a collection of luxury hospitality experiences, and how does Castello Infinity Suites reflect that vision?
Georgios Kasmirlis: For me, luxury has never been about excess. It is about quality, authenticity, and genuine hospitality. Since the beginning, our goal has been to create hotels where guests feel welcomed, cared for and connected to Crete. Every property has its own identity, but they all share the same values: personal service, attention to detail and respect for the destination. Castello Infinity Suites reflects this philosophy perfectly by offering a contemporary luxury experience designed around comfort, privacy and meaningful guest experiences.
WLCC: Today’s luxury travellers seek more than beautiful accommodation. In your view, what experiences and service standards are most important for creating lasting guest loyalty?
Georgios Kasmirlis: Guests remember how they were made to feel. Beautiful facilities may attract visitors, but personalised service, consistency and sincere hospitality are what bring them back. Listening to our guests, anticipating their needs and creating memorable moments are, in my opinion, the key ingredients for building long-term loyalty.
WLCC: The hospitality industry continues to become more competitive each year. What strategies have been most effective in helping Castello Infinity Suites stand out while maintaining its distinctive identity?
Georgios Kasmirlis: Rather than trying to follow every trend, we focus on doing the basics exceptionally well. Investing in our people, maintaining high-quality standards and continuously improving the guest experience have always been our priorities. At the same time, we remain true to our identity by offering authentic Cretan hospitality with a modern approach to luxury.
WLCC: Innovation is essential in luxury hospitality, but so is preserving a property’s character. How do you decide which new ideas to embrace while staying true to the values of the Castello Hotels Group?
Georgios Kasmirlis: Innovation should always enhance the guest experience, not replace the human element. We adopt new ideas and technologies when they add real value for our guests or improve the quality of our services. However, our core values: warm hospitality, personal relationships and authenticity, still remain unchanged regardless of how the industry evolves.
WLCC: Looking ahead, what opportunities and challenges do you expect will define the future of luxury hospitality, and where do you see Castello Hotels Group focusing its efforts in the years to come?
Georgios Kasmirlis: Today’s guests are looking for authentic experiences, sustainability and personalised service more than ever before. At the same time, the industry faces challenges such as rising operational costs and attracting skilled hospitality professionals. Our focus will continue to be on investing in our people, enhancing the guest experience and developing our hotels responsibly, while preserving the values that have defined Castello Hotels Group for many years.
