As Creative Director of HEAD Golf, Ka Ho brings technical performance and contemporary design into a wardrobe intended to work beyond the course. He discusses material innovation, travel as a creative influence, responsible production, and what a new generation of golfers expects from the brands they wear.

Luxury People Magazine: HEAD Golf is bringing together technical performance, design, and sustainability in a category often defined by tradition. Where do you see the biggest opportunity to challenge expectations in golf apparel today?

Ka Ho: Golf has always respected tradition, but today’s golfer lives a very different lifestyle. They want apparel that performs on the course yet feels equally relevant in the city, while traveling, or during everyday life. The biggest opportunity is to remove the boundaries between performance sportswear and contemporary fashion. At HEAD Golf, we’re combining technical fabrics, thoughtful tailoring, and refined silhouettes to create pieces that move naturally between these environments. Sustainability is also becoming an expectation rather than an option, so we’re continuously exploring innovative materials and responsible manufacturing without compromising comfort or performance. I believe the future of golf apparel is about creating products that feel timeless, versatile, and purposeful.

LPM: Your travels have played a major role in your creative process. Can you share a destination, culture, or experience that directly influenced a recent collection and how that inspiration translated into the final designs?

KH: Travel has always been one of my greatest sources of inspiration because every destination tells a different story through its landscape, architecture, and culture. Our recent Coastal Reverie collection was inspired by the rhythm of the coastline, where golf meets the ocean. During my travels, I was fascinated by the textures of coral, seaweed, shells, and coastal flowers, as well as the relaxed elegance of seaside golf clubs. Those observations became subtle prints, calming color palettes, lightweight textures, and relaxed tailoring throughout the collection. Rather than directly copying nature, we translated its atmosphere into wearable pieces that evoke a feeling of freedom and quiet luxury.

LPM: Luxury consumers increasingly expect products to deliver both craftsmanship and purpose. How do you balance innovation, aesthetics, and functionality while ensuring HEAD Golf remains authentic to its sporting heritage?

KH: HEAD has built its reputation on innovation in sports for decades, and that heritage guides every decision we make. We begin with performance, advanced fabrics, comfort, breathability, stretch, and technical construction, and then refine every detail through design. Every seam, silhouette, and material is chosen to enhance both movement and appearance. Our goal is never to create fashion for fashion’s sake, but to design garments that solve real problems while elevating the golfer’s experience. That balance between technical innovation and sophisticated design allows us to stay true to HEAD’s sporting DNA while presenting a fresh vision for modern golf.

LPM: Many premium brands are exploring how to create stronger emotional connections with their audiences. Beyond the garments themselves, what kind of relationship do you want golfers to have with the HEAD Golf brand?

KH: I want people to see HEAD Golf as more than apparel. We want to inspire a lifestyle that celebrates curiosity, creativity, and a genuine love for the game. Golf has an incredible ability to connect generations, cultures, and friendships, and we hope our brand becomes part of those experiences. Whether it’s someone’s first round or their hundredth, we want them to feel confident, comfortable, and authentically themselves. Ultimately, we hope golfers associate HEAD Golf with memorable moments, meaningful experiences, and a community that values both performance and individuality.

LPM: Looking ahead, what changes do you expect to see in the golf and luxury sportswear industries over the next five years, and how is HEAD Golf preparing for that future?

KH: The next five years will see golf become even more global, younger, and culturally connected. The boundaries between luxury fashion, performance apparel, and lifestyle products will continue to disappear. Consumers will also expect greater transparency, smarter materials, and products designed with longevity in mind. At HEAD Golf, we’re investing in innovative fabric technologies, sustainable sourcing, and design that remains relevant beyond a single season. We’re also building a global brand that speaks to golfers from different cultures while staying rooted in HEAD’s legacy of innovation. Our vision is to shape the future of golf by creating products that are technically exceptional, beautifully designed, and meaningful to the people who wear them.
