On 8 October 2026, the global luxury community marked the second World Luxury Day. Established by the World Luxury Chamber of Commerce to honour the people, craftsmanship and creativity behind luxury. The day brought together professionals, brands and media across continents, with the celebration reaching an estimated 585,000 people worldwide.
The celebration truly went global. From the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom to the UAE, India, Thailand, Singapore and Korea, and from Greece, Poland, Austria and Türkiye to Africa and Latin America, World Luxury Day was marked across five continents and in at least eight languages, including English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Polish, Korean and Portuguese.
A global conversation about luxury
Throughout the day, the industry spoke about what luxury means today. The conversation ranged from short greetings to colleagues and clients to in-depth reflections on the questions shaping the industry: the value of craftsmanship and human expertise in the age of artificial intelligence, authenticity and provenance, time and wellbeing as the new markers of luxury, and the responsibility luxury carries towards people and places.
World Luxury Day also marked the close of contributions to the first World Luxury Day Manifesto, which invited luxury professionals around the world to answer a single question: what does luxury mean to you today? Their perspectives will shape the Manifesto, which will be published on the World Luxury Chamber of Commerce website at the end of October.
Honouring the people behind luxury
Across hospitality, fashion, jewellery, real estate, travel and wellness, businesses used the occasion to recognise the artisans, teams and partners who make their work possible, and to share with their clients the values that define them.
Through the eyes of the media
Luxury and lifestyle media marked the day in their own way. The Pillar Edit highlighted five luxury brands that live the values World Luxury Day celebrates. SOH Magazine invited its readers to discover some of India’s most remarkable luxury hotels. Curated Luxury dedicated a feature to the celebration itself, while Luxury Xclusives reflected on provenance, craftsmanship and the future of African luxury.
